Welcome to The Cooking Club!
As a mother of three I believe passionately that knowing how to cook is an essential life skill. Getting kids involved in food preparation and baking at a young age will make sure that they have a healthy relationship with food. Through baking, kids can experience the pride of turning raw ingredients into something special like a dinner, lunch or treat. It fuels their confidence and gives them a sense of achievement and pride in ‘I made this.’ This hands-on experience ensures children are not afraid of food or afraid to try new things. Cooking also provides children with a curiosity of where food comes from and why it is important for us to eat certain foods.
At The Cooking Club we believe that cooking and eating should be enjoyable, fun and informative. We encourage children to try new foods and to learn about the nutritional value of food in a fun and safe environment. In our experience the more children know about food the more likely they are to taste it. We are essentially broadening their interest in food and their knowledge of different foods that are available. At The Cooking Club each child gets to prepare their own food. Each child is provided with their own utensils and ingredients to make the dish. They get to sample their produce and bring some of their lovely bakes home to their families.
